After months of negotiations, revisions, concessions and meetings, the Paradise Valley Town Council has approved redevelopment plans for the long-shuttered Mountain Shadows resort.
However, a lingering legal dispute with a nearby homeowners group could throw yet another curve into the process.
The council on Thursday unanimously approved five documents between the town and owners, MTS Land LLC and MTS Golf LLC, that will pave the road to revitalization of the historic resort.
Two significant documents included a special-use permit, which is guiding the conceptual redevelopment of the property, and its accompanying development agreement, which includes a number of aspects of the land deal, such as bed-tax payments, demolition and construction timetables, as well as improvements to 56th Street between Lincoln and McDonald drives.
