Yuma mayor won’t seek reelection

Yuma Mayor Al Krieger announced Monday he will not seek re-election after his four-year term expires at the end of this year.

Krieger had taken out a candidate nomination packet on March 19.

However, moments after proclaiming April Parkinson’s Awareness Month in the City of Yuma during a support group meeting for the group, the mayor announced he would not be running for re-election in the Aug. 27 primary, KAWC reported.

Krieger confirmed his decision to the Yuma Sun Monday, but declined to further discuss his decision with the newspaper.
