Group buys vacant hospital in Florence

hospital in FlorenceThe vacant hospital at 450 W. Adamsville Road has been bought by a group of investors, who hope to have it open and offering basic services in three to four months.Dr. Harinder Takyar, a local family physician, confirmed Tuesday that he will be medical director of the hospital, expected to be known as “Adamsville Florence Medical Center.”

He said the hospital would be “much better than before” with extensive children’s and women’s care, and a rural health clinic.

The facility went by the name Florence Community Healthcare when it closed last year.
