American, US Airways, DOJ reportedly reach merger suit settlement [VIDEO]

Fort Worth-based American Airlines (OTC: AAMRQ) and Tempe-based US Airways Group (NYSE: LCC) have reached a settlement with the U.S. Justice Department in the DOJ antitrust lawsuit seeking to block their proposed $17 billion merger, Bloomberg reported.

Bloomberg said details of the settlement would be released later on Tuesday. A settlement would require a judge’s approval.

US Airways halted sale of its stock prior to the announcement, CNBC reported.
