WinCo approved in Surprise despite competitors attempt to re-open settled case

A group of residents is demanding city officials order a zoning hearing for a planned WinCo Foods warehouse grocery store going up in a commercially desireable location off Loop 303 and Bell Road.

The governing body completed a public hearing on the project after a handful of residents and lawyers for a competing market urged further consideration by the Board of Adjustment, claiming the site plan should not have received approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission.
