Former Coolidge official Curry to serve jail time under plea deal in real estate case

Lester Curry, a former Coolidge city council member, has pleaded guilty to a charge of real estate fraud and a charge of theft, in exchange for 22 other charges of theft being dismissed.

Under terms of a plea agreement, Curry will spend six months in the Pinal County jail for his guilty plea to the theft charge. The plea agreement requires he pay no more than $150,000 in restitution for the fraud charge.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 24 in Pinal County Superior Court.

On Sept. 13, Curry pleaded not guilty to 24 charges filed by the Arizona Attorney General’s office.
