Mixed signals from Pinal home sales in February

Pinal County home prices in February of 2014 declined slightly from the previous month but rose 8% from a year ago. The median price for February was $155,000 for 521 sales. The median square footage was 1,776. One month earlier, January 2014, the median price was $160,000 with a median square footage of 1,840.

Despite the one month-to-month decline, price rose 8% from a year ago. The median price in February 2013 was $143,500 with a median square footage of 1,825. In contrast to the yearly rise in prices, the volume of sales declined 23% from 678 sales in February 2013.

The top sale in February was a 4,200 square foot home in Superstition Mountain Country Club, which sold for just under $930,000.
