Cushman & Wakefield’s First Solar/Apple sale is ‘Deal of the Year’

The sale of First Solar’s Mesa manufacturing facility to Apple last November by Cushman & Wakefield of Arizona Inc., has been named 2013 Economic Development Deal of the Year by Business Facilities magazine. Apple paid $113.6 million for the

1.3 million square-foot manufacturing plant. Michael White and Jim Wilson of Cushman & Wakefield brokered the transaction and were honored at the annual RED Awards as the Top Industrial Team of the Year.

Major deals

Carlson Real Estate Co. sold two industrial buildings at 21410, 21415 N. 15th Lane in the Deer Valley area of North Phoenix to Meritex of Minneapolis for $17.68 million. JLL brokers Tony Lydon and Pat Harlan represented the buyer, and theseller of this industrial portfolio totaling 193,366 square feet was self-represented.

Prologis of San Francisco sold Prologis Riverside Distribution Center at 2225 S. 43rd Ave. in Southwest Phoenix to Exeter Property Group of Pennsylvania for $13.2 million. Andy Markham, Mike Haenel and Will Strong of Cassidy Turley in Phoenix negotiated the sale on behalf of the buyer and seller of this 250,796 square-foot industrial project. The property was 44 percent occupied at the time of sale.
