Five more Peoria residents have taken initial steps to run in the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 26, while two others filed their petitions to appear on the ballot.
Peoria could see significant changes in city leadership as five of the seven seats on the City Council are up for election this year.
The Acacia, Palo Verde and Pine districts, comprising the southern portion of the city, will be on the ballot, along with the mayor’s seat. Mayor Bob Barrett will reach his term limit this year.
