She’s been by his side for each of his three campaigns for public office.
But now Nancy Smith, the wife of former two-term Maricopa mayor and current Pinal Board of Supervisors chairman Anthony Smith, is seeking a seat of her own.
Smith debated running for Maricopa City Council in the past, but when councilmember Leon Potter resigned his seat in March, opening the door for a special two-year term to complete his time in office, Smith said she knew the time was right.
