Maricopa City Council selects new Councilmember to fill vacancy

At a special meeting on May 29, 2014, of the Maricopa City Council, the Mayor and Councilmembers interviewed four applicants to fill one vacant council position. After interviewing the four, the City Council individually selected two candidates in a first round of votes and the top three candidates moved to a second round: Carl Diedrich, Dan Frank, and Brad Hinton. In round two of questions and votes, the City Council individually selected only one candidate and the top two candidates moved to round three: Carld Diedrich and Dan Frank. Following the final round of interview questions and vote, the City Council selected Dan Frank to fill the vacancy on the City Council. He was sworn in by City Clerk Vanessa Bueras and will take the dais at the next regularly scheduled City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 3. Congratulations to Councilmember Dan Frank and thank you to all the residents who applied.
