Valley commercial construction cycling up as residential slows

Residential and commercial construction in metro Phoenix and across the nation have been moving at two very different speeds this year.

With new home permits down by 13.5 percent year-over-year in April and new-home sales down 15 percent in March, according to the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona and Arizona State University, residential builders haven’t been feeling great about the market this year.
