Avondale Councilmember Ken Weise appointed Mayor – congratulations!

Ken WeiseIn May, 2014, Avondale Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers announced her resignation as Mayor. At that time she also filed paperwork to run for the District 5 post on the Maricopa Board of Supervisors, as previously reported by Rose Law Group Reporter.

At a council hearing on June 2, 2014, Councilmember Ken Weise was appointed Mayor. Mayor Weise was appointed Councilmember in January 2006; elected September 2007; and served as Vice Mayor from January 2008 to January 2010.

Mayor Weise has an impressive biography, including being a WESTMARC Board Committee Member. He is Certified in Network Analysis and Logic Analysis by Tektronix Corporation and has been an Arizona resident since 1986 and an Avondale resident since 1995; he will serve the City well.
