Glendale to have three runoffs for council seats

Glendale will have a runoff in all three council races as none of the candidates were able to get the required 50 percent plus one vote to be elected Tuesday.

In the Cholla district, where current councilmember Manny Martinez is retiring after 18 years in office, Lauren Tolmachoff will face off against Gary Deardorff as preliminary results show Tolmachoff with 42.6 percent of the votes to Deardorff’s 34.7 percent. Robert Petrone finished a distant third with only 12.9 percent of the votes.
