Scottsdale may have outgrown two of its most iconic Western spots, the city’s mayor says.
The city has fewer swaths of land that sprawling operations such as Greasewood Flat and Pinnacle Peak Patio need to thrive, and Mayor Jim Lane says he questions whether any effort to create that kind of atmosphere would work for either establishment in a strip mall or other suburban development.
While the two attractions are about a mile apart, Greasewood Flat’s situation appears to be more imminent. A recent proposal to move near the McDowell Sonoran Preserve was withdrawn in the face of opposition earlier this month.
