Phoenix will move forward with the renovation of an aging terminal at Sky Harbor International Airport, but a recent delay of the project could carry steep financial costs.

City council members voted unanimously Wednesday to approve a $103 million construction contract for the first phase of the planned $590 million Terminal 3 remodeling project.

Two weeks ago, the council tabled the contract — a move airport officials estimated could cost up to an additional $1.9 million.
