After comparing a proposed anti-immigrant measure to SB1070, Democrats now say it’s much worse.
“This type of legislation was first introduced in 1937 and 1938 in Nazi Germany,” said Sen. Robert Meza, D-Phoenix. “Why do we need this in Arizona?”
Meza and other activists and business leaders were brought together by Sen.-elect Catherine Miranda, D-Phoenix, to draw attention to the Scottsdale Republican’s proposal. At a press conference Friday, Miranda, Meza and others in the Hispanic community vowed to be a voice against the proposal and promised that prominent business interests inside Arizona and beyond would take notice of the legislation.
