Coolidge facing significant budget deficit

A lack of certainty over revenue streams and unexpected expenses has cast a cloud over the beginning of the budget cycle that will affect the City of Coolidge’s budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year.

The directors of the city’s departments submitted their general fund budget proposals to the city council on March 9 and 23, presenting what they say is the most fiscally conservative expenses they could come up with. However, the anticipated revenue still falls short by $32,497 of the budgeted expenditures.
