Eloy’s transportation, economic future tied to Sun Corridor organization

Eloy recently teamed up with Casa Grande, Coolidge and a large area of unincorporated Pinal County to form the Sun Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization in order to address traffic congestion, air quality issues and other transportation concerns.

The Intermodal Surface Transportation and Equity Act requires urbanized areas with populations of 50,000 or more to establish an MPO to specifically deal with these issues.

In order for an MPO or its member agencies to receive federal transportation money, they must meet certain requirements.
