A majority of the Flagstaff City Council not only doesn’t favor a four-year term for the mayor or term limits for the mayor and council.
It doesn’t favor letting voters have a crack at any of those questions.
At least that was the preliminary stance taken Tuesday night when the council considered whether to put 12 substantive changes to the city charter on the fall ballot. Most of the ballot questions had come from a citizens charter review panel
But after nearly an hour of discussion, just three of the 12 possible ballot questions had survived the first pass by the council. It has until June 16 to approve a final list for the Nov. 3 ballot.
