The Town Council interviewed five candidates hoping to fill a vacant seat on the council at its May 18 meeting.
Among other questions, the candidates were all asked what they see as the three greatest challenges facing the town. None of the candidates mentioned the major annexations now being contested in Superior Court that would add more than 4,000 new residents.
The successful candidate will complete the last 18 months of the term begun by Ruben Montaño. The council will vote on a new councilperson at its June 1 meeting.
