Paradise Valley names new police chief

NEWS RELEASE—Paradise Valley

After a nationwide search, Town Manager Kevin Burke has announced that he has selected Peter Wingert to serve as police chief.

Wingert currently serves as police chief for Wickenburg. Prior to Wickenburg, he was the undersheriff for the Flathead County, Montana Sheriff’s Office. He has implemented numerous community oriented policing programs, which include “Wickenburg Five-0,” where officers interact with students in a proactive environment in neighborhood classrooms to build positive relationships and serve as role models to those students, Neighborhood speed patrol and “Fill A Cruiser,” a food drive where community members fill a police vehicle with non-perishable food items. The food is donated to the local senior center.

Chief Wingert’s expected start date is June 29, 2015.
