[OP-ED] Time for state to give it up on West Valley casino

One  could make the point that it is time for state officials to “give it up” on the Tohono O’odham Nation’s bid to operate a casino on its property in the West Valley.

There have been challenges from all fronts to the Nation’s efforts, and all of those have been met with resounding rulings from the federal court.

As one local resident observed, it just does not make sense to keep beating up on a Native American tribe that is unique. It is the only tribe in Arizona that had to move its entire citizenry from their homeland to a dusty, dry, arid no-man’s land in southern Arizona.
