Group drops recall against Chandler mayor in power line flap

chandlerA group fighting Salt River Project’s plan to build an above-ground power line in Chandler has dropped its effort to recall Mayor Jay Tibshraeny but will continue pursuing the recall of a City Council member.

“We feel the mayor understands the importance of this issue to his constituents and we have elected to give him the benefit of the doubt and trust in his leadership to bring this issue to a swift and complete resolution,’’ said Laine Schoneberger, president of ProjectACU a SuperPAC, in a letter delivered to the Chandler City Clerk’s office Wednesday. He also confirmed the decision to The Republic.
