Barbara McGuire Announces Re-election Bid for Senate in Legislative District 8

NEWS RELEASE Nov. 6, 2015
McGuire brings strong record and deep roots in the district to her re-election campaign
KEARNY—State Senator Barbara McGuire today announced her intention to seek re-election to the State Senate in Legislative District 8. She had previously explored a potential bid for Arizona’s First Congressional District.
McGuire today pledged to continue the fight to properly fund Arizona’s schools and to focus on issues important to rural Arizona and her district. “I want to thank everyone who encouraged me to explore a run for Congress, but when looking at the issues of greatest importance to our communities and taking into consideration the needs of my family, returning to the State Senate is the right choice,” said McGuire. “My heart has always been committed to the people of Arizona, and I have a record of winning tough races and of standing up for my district.”
“The residents of Legislative District 8 deserve a State Senator who will put the needs of our district ahead of partisan interests and work hard every day for jobs, economic development, quality of life and public safety. They also deserve a State Senator that understands that there is no better investment we can make in our state than to properly fund Arizona’s public schools. I strongly believe in serving my community, and I look forward to the upcoming campaign and continuing my service to the residents of Legislative District 8.”
