Peoria leaders agree on aggressive economic development strategy

Before a policy is adopted, there’s background work. There’s updated demographic information, a competitive assessment, a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats), a targeted industry analysis, opportunity areas assessment, and a five-year action document.

So, take all of that data and the guidance of the Peoria Economic Development Advisory Board, and you have what Economic Development Services Director Scott Whyte said, “In a nutshell, that’s what an EDIS is (Economic Development Implementation Strategy) – council and work groups aligned.”
