Pinal Dems file complaints over Babeu campaign

The chairman of the Pinal County Democratic Committee has filed a pair of complaints against Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, including one with the Federal Elections Commission, over what he says are violations of campaign finance laws.

The complaints, filed on Feb. 24 and obtained by the Casa Grande Dispatch, show Pinal Democratic Chair David Coward asking the FEC and the House Committee on Ethics to investigate the claim that Babeu did not file his financial disclosure statement in a time frame required by law after declaring his candidacy for the 1st Congressional District seat on Oct. 5, 2015.
