Peoria mayor dedicates preserve as increasing property values, driving economic investment

Peoria residents gathered a little after sunrise Saturday morning to dedicate the new Sunrise Mountain Preserve.

The crowd that included hikers, bikers, equestrian and nature enthusiasts marked the occasion of ownership transferring to Peoria citizens. Last month, Peoria City Council approved the purchase of the western 85 acres of Sunrise Mountain at 91st Avenue and Happy Valley Road.
