MARICOPA — An organization seeking a referendum on a potential new motor sports park in Maricopa has filed a lawsuit against Maricopa Mayor Christian Price in an effort to get the issue onto a ballot.

The civil case was filed in Pinal County Superior Court on Monday by Maricopa Citizens Protecting Taxpayers (previously named  “Tax Payers”) and names Price, not the city of Maricopa, as the defendant. The actual court documents were not yet ready to view as of press time.
