Judge orders informant’s name be disclosed in Pinal racetrack case

The identity of an informant who leaked knowledge of an unsanctioned racetrack in Pinal County has been ordered disclosed by a judge.

Criminal charges remain pending for a group of defendants suspected of being associated with unregulated horse racing in Picacho five years ago.

One of the defendants was Belloc’s Inc., an Eloy business that has familial ties to the city’s mayor, Joel Belloc.

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office filed an indictment last year, accusing defendants of charges ranging from money laundering to the promotion of gambling.
