In just a year’s time, a vacant dirt field in the Glen Harbor Business Park has been transformed into the second largest industrial building in the Valley. With the Aug. 1 grand opening of Conair’s all new, 800,000 square foot, state of the art distribution center, the facility becomes the largest campus within their corporate system allowing this innovative, international leader to ship its products directly to the final consumer.
Continuing its 25-year commitment to the City of Glendale, Conair will provide 300 additional jobs joining the 450 already employed since opening its Glen Harbor manufacturing and distribution center in 1992. In addition to the hundreds of local jobs created throughout its year-long construction project, Conair generates jobs across the globe and currently employs some 3,200 people worldwide.
Originally founded by Lee Rizzuto in Brooklyn, New York circa 1959, Conair has maximized the team approach with advanced technology in the development of its 24 company brands sold in 122 countries throughout the world. Today, the company manufactures and distributes 289 million products annually and claims 95 percent of United States households have at least one Conair product.
