Potential City-owned lake in Douglas

The City of Douglas is in the process of acquiring land, which naturally retains large amounts of water, located north of AZ-80 on Washington Avenue/Douglas Dispatch

An ordinance to authorize the acceptance of unimproved land, as part of a settlement in a City of Douglas lawsuit, was placed on its first reading by the mayor and council on Aug. 9.

The subject property is 10 acres of raw land, located on Washington Avenue north of AZ-80, particularly described as Tract C, Cochise College Park Unit Nine, Coronado Lakes Estates.

Claims against the City were filed through Arizona Superior Court, in April 2015, by National Investment Company, an Arizona Corporation, and the landowner Marguerite Kelly (Plaintiff).
