Several Pinal County cities made a recent list of safe Arizona cities.
Maricopa was the highest ranked Pinal city on the list released by website safehome.org, coming in third out of the top 25 safest Arizona cities. The rankings are for cities with populations of more than 38,000 residents. Crime data reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as crime data trends, are considered.
Demographic data, including population trends, unemployment rates, median income and education levels, also were used in determining the safety of cities.
