Glendale is purchasing land at a high cost and selling it for far less to the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers — a situation the city manager blames on agreements inked years ago.
A company formed by the two Major League Baseball teams is expected to purchase the 38-acre dirt lot along Camelback Road, at the southeast corner of their Glendale-owned spring-training ballpark.
Camelback Spring Training LLC will pay Glendale $3.3 million for the land, but the city stands to net only $260,000 from the sale.
