Could Sean Miller wiretap report be wrong? Seeds of doubt arise with ESPN recruiting story

Questions continue to arise about ESPN’s report of Arizona Wildcats coach allegedly being caught on an FBI wiretap discussing a $100,000 payment for Deandre Ayton to play.

Several media members have highlighted the holes in ESPN’s narrative about the incident since the network broke the news last Friday.

Does the ESPN timeline add up?

Several writers have wondered about ESPN’s timeline in the report.

ESPN has adjusted its reporting about when the phone call between Miller and Christian Dawkins, a runner for ASM Sports Group, supposedly occurred twice.

It had originally reported that the alleged conversation happened in 2017, but then changed it to the spring of 2016.

The network then removed spring from the date and just states that it happened sometime in 2016.
