Big League Dreams and Gilbert continue to duke it out in pricey court battle

Gilbert and the former operator of the now-shuttered Big League Dreams ballpark continue to quarrel in court, with no end in sight.

But that doesn’t mean the town isn’t moving forward with plans to overhaul the site, now being called Elliot District Park in town documents. On Thursday, the Gilbert Town Council approved as much as $9.7 million in repairs at the sports complex that was used for Little League and other athletic leagues.
