Peoria museum closes due to dispute over rightful leaders of historical society

A historic dispute in Peoria has shut down the city’s history museum.

The crux of the issue is that two groups claim to be the duly elected board of the Peoria Arizona Historical Society, which operates the museum.

The city changed the locks and shuttered the five buildings it leases to the non-profit in mid-May after learning of the controversy surrounding the board election.
