Pinal County planning to move Hunt Hwy

In some areas of San Tan Valley, the county is widening Hunt Hwy. In other areas, the county is planning to move it completely.

South of Arizona Farms, Hunt Highway currently runs through the Gila River Indian Community. The county had plans to widen the right of way and continue with five lanes, as it has for all of Hunt Hwy from Empire through San Tan Valley.

However the Gila River Indian Community has refuse to grant the county a term of more than 50 years to use the land, so the county is in the design phase to move it.
