Racial discrimination was the most memorable issue in my reporting career [VIDEO]

Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King Junior. Whenever this date is memorialized, it reminds me of the most impactful time in my journalism career.

It happened at the University of Wyoming, a place most noted at the time for its football strength, but not for what was ahead for the team.

Nor for the state, fans, politicians and eventually the U.S. Supreme Court.

Here’s the story from the perspective of a black football player nearly 50 years ago.
