For the recently hired Maricopa City Manager Ricky Horst, the decision to move to Maricopa was just as much about him choosing the city as it was about the city choosing him.
“When you start off, you take jobs where you can feed your family, and then you get to a place where you can be pickier,” he said.
Horst said he has been in city manager positions for a long time, and while he is grateful city council chose him, he said it was a dual-decision. The final call for him was realizing that his visions and philosophies aligned so well with council and city staff.
