Phoenix City Council votes down operating funds budget. In a 4-4 split vote Wednesday, Phoenix City Council failed to adopt a 2018-2019 operating funds budget (tie vote = no). “I think this is the first time we’ve ever had a budget fail,” said Mayor Thelda Willams. The Budget will go back to council for reconsideration on June 27th.

California limits daily personal water use to 55 gallons – kind of. “The state’s new per capita limit on indoor water use is groundbreaking, but there is no practical way to enforce it. Arizona ballot initiative proponents unfazed by ‘millionaire’s tax’ ruling.“Proponents of an Arizona ballot initiative that would raise taxes on the wealthy to fund education aren’t worried about by a recent court ruling in Massachusetts that struck down a proposed ‘millionaire’s tax.’ ” But a “KTAR legal expert” says the “Massachusetts case could be cited by opponents to the Arizona ballot measure.” http://bit.ly/2MMQk9M
