Early results show winners, runoffs in West Valley local races

Voters turned out for Arizona’s Aug. 28 primary election and early results showed some races decided and many too close to call just yet.

As of 9 p.m. last night, the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office reported unofficial results, announcing some clear winners, as well as some likely run-offs in local races across the West Valley.

(Race leaders appear in bold.)

Surprise

In Surprise, where five council seats were up for grabs, three districts suggested clear winners, and the others hinted toward a potential runoff in the November election.
