This home builder doesn’t see the housing market slowing down. Home sales flattening. Foreclosures increasing. Interest rates and labor costs climbing. Concerning news? How much home does $1 buy? Zillow has come up with a “graphic representation” showing just “how much space a single dollar would buy…in the country’s largest markets.” Twenty years ago in Phoenix you could’ve snagged 2.25 square-inches — ROOMY! compared to the amount of space that same buck will buy you today.—>

Trulia: 36% experience neighborhood regret. And “city dwellers” expressed the highest hood remorse, with 46 percent saying they would “move to switch neighborhoods if they could do it over again.” More findings in Builder, plus a link to “Trulia Neighborhoods,” a home-browsing feature that gives “people a genuine feel for what it’s like to actually live in a neighborhood.”

HAMMER TIME – Average construction time of the single-family home.It’s 7.5 months. But construction times “varied substantially,” not only by WHO did the building — homebuilder, homeowner, contractor — but also by WHERE the home was built. Most expensive home sales in Phoenix. Arizona Foothills Magazine top home sales, 8.20.18- 8.26.18, totaled “over $23 million,” SAGGING some $1 million from the previous week. Out-of-sight home features in this week’s scrollshow include:Luxurious living and dining room, pebble-tec spa and pool with waterfall, and a fully equipped gym with sauna.

The most outrageous new hotel designs of the future at the Radical Innovation Awards. “Radical Innovation has launched some of the most amazing designs through their annual competition that challenges designers and the hotel industry to not only create the ultimate guest experience but to also develop progressive new ideas that will propel the hotel industry into the future.” Check out the finalists in Forbes

Some metro Phoenix cities buy a lot on Amazon, but there’s push-back in Tempe. The city’s “use of Amazon has increased 300 percent in five years,” and there’s “concern that some of the online orders are for items the city already contracts with a vendor to acquire.” AZCentral.

Bankruptcy threatens season at Club West Golf Course. The hearing on a BK petition filed by current course owner Inter Tribal Golf Association is scheduled for late September — “a few weeks before overseeding must begin if the course can be ready.” Wilson Gee who stands to “regain control” of the property says, “It’s going to be tight. If we can’t make it by mid-October, you’re not going to have a season…” AF.
