Local business leaders launched a process last week aimed at gathering public input on plans to develop the Surprise City Center.
The Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted Scott Phillips, the chamber’s board chairman and Carefree Partners vice president, for the Sept. 25 Community Convener’s Breakfast at the Lightbox at the West-MEC Northwest Campus, 13201 W. Grand Ave.
Chamber President and CEO Raoul Sada introduced Mr. Phillips, who provided an update on efforts to hire a master planner and invited residents to share their insights and vision for the more than 500 acres of land yet to be developed in the area around City Hall.
“The City Center is probably going to be the largest downtown project in decades and will have a major regional impact for all of us,” Mr. Sada said. “A successful City Center will create jobs, office space and significant economic growth for all the cities in our region.”
