Chandler looks at residential plans, farmland rezoning

Chandler is considering a new residential at Alma School and Queen Creek roads.

The New Home Company wants to build the 24.2 -acre development called Mariposa. The city of Chandler is considering rezoning and development plans from the builder. That includes rezoning 5 acres of existing farmland on Queen Creek Road.

The land is known locally as the Dobson Family Farm.

Development plans call for 199 single-family detached and paired homes.

The Chandler Planning Commission will look at the Mariposa plans on Wednesday.
