The city of Phoenix will hold a series of public meetings on the potential redevelopment or sale of the South Building of the Phoenix Convention Center.

The South Building is the oldest event spaces at the downtown convention center. The city is looking at potential development partnerships, a redevelopment or sale of the downtown Phoenix site.

The first meeting will be July 24 with subsequent meetings until Aug. 21. The city has also invited downtown and civic groups to present ideas for the South Building at those meetings.

The 286,000-square-foot South Building opened in 1985. It is the oldest part of the Phoenix Convention Center complex.

It sits on a 9.27-acre site bounded by Washington and Jefferson streets and Third and Fifth streets in downtown Phoenix.
