Mesa is looking to brand its growing concentration of Asian-owned businesses in the western part of the East Valley city.

Mesa is launching a new effort to brand the western part of the city where there is a cluster of Asian businesses anchored by 100,000 square foot Mekong Plaza at Main Street and Dobson Road.

The plaza and surrounding area are home more than 70 Asian-owned businesses, according to city officials.

The city of Mesa is launching an online survey asking residents and businesses how to better brand and promote the ‘Asian District’.

“Mesa has a strong, active Asian community and I am excited to see the Asian district come to life in West Mesa,” Mayor John Giles said. “We are always interested in hearing the opinions of our residents and this survey will help us understand the direction we should take in branding the corridor.”
