State House creates panel to address groundwater supply in Pinal County

House Speaker Rusty Bowers has announced the creation of the House Ad Hoc Committee on Groundwater Supply in Pinal County.

The committee will study available groundwater and renewable water supplies in the Pinal Active Management Area, and it will make recommendations on the modeling criteria for available groundwater supplies in the area.

Bowers, R-Mesa, named Rep. David Cook, R-Globe, to chair the committee and appointed Reps. Noel Campbell, R-Prescott, Gail Griffin, R-Sierra Vista, Bret Roberts, R-Maricopa, Rosanna Gabaldón, D-Sahuarita, and Diego Rodriguez, D-Phoenix, to serve on the committee. The director of the Arizona Department of Water Resources, Tom Buschatzke, will also serve on the committee.
