The Gilbert Town Council has approved a $500,000 reimbursement for a developer building a mixed-use project in the popular Heritage District.

The Council approved a reimbursement up to $500,000 for Heritage North Partners LLC for permitting and planning fees the group will pay to develop Class A office space, a 150-room hotel, 250 apartments and a parking garage at Gilbert Road and Juniper Avenue.

Heritage North Partners LLC is partnership between LGE and DMB Associates. It is buying a 9.1-acre site from the town that is currently part of a surface parking north of the area’s popular bars and restaurants. The sale price is $4.6 million.

Heritage North Partners is also buying an adjacent parcel to the town site at the northwest corner of Gilbert and Juniper that is now home to a Burger King restaurant.
