The Gilbert Town Council could move forward a proposal to waive permit fees for homeowners and property owners looking to improve properties in older neighborhoods.

The Gilbert Council is slated to discuss the proposal at its January 7th meeting and could potentially schedule it for a vote at a future council meeting.

Gilbert has seen significant growth in its newer area such as near San Tan Village mall. But the town also want to encourage improvements in older, more established neighborhoods including near its popular Heritage District and its restaurants and bars.
